In a unanimous decision the United States congress has decided to air drop desperately needed vowels to the Russian city of Thrzkluzk whose name cannot be pronounced by 99% of the worlds population. This is the beginning of a larger effort to make the world easier to talk about and the operation will be expanded to the middle east and Europe after Thrzkluzk is successful. The operation dubbed "Sesame Street" will take three weeks and hopefully deliver a substantial number of vowels so the city will have choices among them.

The operation will take place at night and will consist of dropping an unspecified number of a's, e's, I's, o's and u's, and sometimes y. The y will be deployed with caution as countries in that region tend to exploit the sometimes consonant, sometimes vowel, overusing it and wasting millions of taxpayer dollars. Such misuse occurred in 1992 when the city of Dygyrtyzypy announced its new name. An international operation such as this is supported by the United Nations and is regarded as a "step in the right direction."

Thrzkluzk city leader, Mhrtzgh Brnmwx, is looking forward to the much needed US help and relief. "This is going to be a great help, our region has run completely out of vowels. I believed we used our last remaining 'u' quite strategically but our city name still is difficult to pronounce. I am looking forward to a cornucopia of a's and e's, its been years since we have heard those sounds."

President Bush, understanding that other countries are also waiting, can't promise a full deployment since US stocks, although large and diverse, could be domestically needed in future years. He commented saying "our vowels are our vowels, we might need some of them soon, we can't give them all away but we'll do what we can."
