In a recent effort to cut down on the increasing number of instances concerning the misuse of the 10 items or less lane, Cub foods has hired a new bouncer. Cub Foods manager Michael Gooderd of Kokomo, Indiana, has been upset with the recent wait in the so called express lane and wants to ensure customers that the a wait will decrease with the new position. "I just want to say that the blatant misuse of this lane ranks right up there with blasphemy in my book. Customers who only need a few items and in a rush are being hindered by disrespectful people, young and old. Just the other day I saw one woman attempt to use this lane with a full cart, I mean come on people, most of us are literate, please just look at the sign." Gooderd went on to say that the new position, to be shared by three individuals, will hopefully "keep everyone in the right line."

Syd Parkman, a 36 year old employee, is one of the new bouncers that was recently transferred from cart replenishment to this position. Syd explained the need and importance of the new position, "I am really excited to start, I mean I have seen this lane abused for years and I have even recommended this new position in the suggestion box for the past few months. I will be responsible for counting items and searching customers for hidden items which is perfect for me since my best subject in high school was mathematics." The other two who will share this responsibility are Kyle Rupert, a recent high school grad looking to get experience in the security field, and Hanz Hoyt, a 25 year old with nothing better to do.

Gooderd claimed that this was the last ditch effort to stop the madness. "We have tried flyers, newspaper opinion articles, 25 cent toll charges and even threatened with law suits. I guess manual observation is the only way to curb these time thieves." Cub foods officials are impressed with Gooderd's idea and are contemplating the introduction of mandatory bouncers for this lane in all stores, exploitation isn't only occurring in Kokomo. An unnamed executive said "I really didn't mind the misuse until it made me miss my sons entire baseball game, I waited over an hour to check out, now that's ridiculous."
